Mindfulness-based meditation is consistently included and highly ranked as an evidence-based approach for relieving emotional and mental distress and increasing insight; reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression; working with physical pain; and improving relationships with ourselves and others. Each week, we will practice mindfulness-based meditation as a group, with a combination of instruction, silence, and time for structured reflections.
The weekly meditations are adaptations of those taught in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program, originally developed in the late 1970's by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, for patients struggling with pain and chronic stress.
Deanna, the facilitator, is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher and has been teaching MBSR and its adaptations since 2010.
Deanna facilitates the group very similarly to how MBSR courses are offered, which reduces cross-talk within the group and prioritizes time for meditation practice and structured, "here and now" reflections.
This group is suitable for all experience levels and, more importantly, it is designed and offered in a way that is meant to be accessible to differing levels of personal comfort with entering a group setting, which can be a challenging setting for many of us to enter.
No one has to sit on the floor. Chairs are happily offered; meditation cushions are available, too. Feel free to reach out to Deanna with any questions, or arrive 15 minutes early, for the possibility of one-on-one time. All are welcome.

Join Dr. Cox in a trinity of Qi Gong alignments to support your seasonal transition from summer into fall. Each session will open with gentle shaking and close with a short seasonal meditation and group mandala. As the weeks unfold we will harmonize the meridians and balance the organs of fire (triple warmer & pericardium) then earth (spleen, stomach & pancreas) and finally metal (lung & large intestine). Aligned around the autumnal equinox, each class will be infused with wellness tips, wisdoms, jedi mind tricks, questions and inquiries from the Element Wisdom Card Decks. The simple movements, internal visualizations and acupressure points can be practiced at home to honor dynamic change and ground into wellness. No prior qi gong experience necessary.
Birds can be found in our neighborhoods and backyards, and can provide fascination and delight. In fact, a growing body of research tells us that tuning in to birds is good for our health and wellbeing. Join us for a gentle morning of observing birds and tapping into the grounding and peace they can offer us. Rather than focusing on identifying or locating as many species as possible, we will be using birds and nature as a mindfulness tool. After all, you don’t need to know the name of a bird to enjoy its colors, sounds or antics!
This event is for anyone; previous bird knowledge is not required. It will be led by Freya McGregor, an occupational therapist who works at the intersection of access, inclusion, disability and birding as a consultant, educator and researcher.
Each month, Dr. Dianne Mancus leads an interactive talk exploring a key theme in wellness from positive mindset and gratitude to social connection and well-being in the workplace. These sessions are designed to feel approachable and engaging, with space for questions, discussion, and practical takeaways you can use right away.
Nervous System Reset is a deeply restorative workshop designed to calm body and mind. Through gentle movement, supported poses, and guided relaxation, you’ll create space for your system to shift from stress into ease. After the busyness of the morning and before evening plans, you can give yourself this soothing pause—a chance to release tension, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.
LiveWell is more than a place to practice. It’s a place to belong. The “Community Connection” blocks on the calendar are intentional spaces created for you to stay after class (or drop in) and connect with our community: have a cup of tea, get to know a guide or member, ask questions, make yourself at home. All are welcome, whether you come to class or not. Always free. Let us hold space for you to find belonging.
When stress shows up—whether it’s constant in the background or suddenly overwhelming—it helps to have something you can turn to in the moment. This circle introduces a simple, practical way to support your nervous system using your own hands.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), also known as “tapping,” is an evidence-based practice that uses acupressure points to help the nervous system settle. It’s gentle, adaptable, and easy to learn.
What to Expect
- A short, beginner-friendly intro to tapping
Learn the basic points, how to use them, and why they work.
- Optional reflection and sharing
Each person will have the opportunity to share what's coming up for them and what issue or theme they would like to tap on. Sharing is always optional.
- A short break
Time to reset, stretch, connect, or just be. During this pause, personalized tapping scripts will be created based on the group’s reflections.
- A guided group tapping session
We’ll go through each script together, offering support for your own experience and space to connect with others through shared emotion and story.
- A few minutes to check in before closing
You’ll be invited to notice how you feel—what’s shifted, softened, or come into focus.

Meet Dr. Jessica Hoggle
Dr. Jessica Hoggle, DSW, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in trauma therapy. With a strong background in psychology and social work, she has extensive experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Dr. Hoggle integrates innovative body-based practices, such as therapeutic drumming, into her therapy to support holistic healing and help her clients thrive.
Why Drumming?
Dr. Jessica Hoggle discovered the healing power of drumming after a colleague introduced her to an African drumming circle. This experience opened her eyes to new possibilities beyond traditional talk therapy, which often falls short of addressing the physical manifestation of trauma. Convinced that healing requires engaging both the mind and body, Dr. Hoggle began integrating drumming into her therapy sessions. The results were remarkable, leading her to delve deeper into the science behind drumming’s benefits. Her research, conducted as part of her Doctorate in Social Work, revealed significant mental health improvements and increased immune responses in participants, laying the groundwork for drumming as a valuable tool in trauma recovery.
